Fibrouscarbs
As personal trainers we are aways talking about your Food and we recommend that you monitor your carbohydrates “Carbs.” There is one type of carbohydrate that we love for you to consume, they are Fibrous carbohydrates. Fibrous carbohydrates are vegetables that aid in digestion. Fibrous carbohydrates include asparagus, kale, mushrooms, red peppers, green beans, cauliflower and spinach to name a few. They are loaded with fiber and take the longest to digest out of the 3 different types of carbohydrates “Simple, Complex and Fibrous.” The fiber in these carbs can be found in the skin of vegetables and in the vegetable itself. Fibrous carbs also help move starch along the digestive track and can help prevent gastrointestinal diseases. Fibrous would be considered complex carbohydrates and they break down slowly. Unlike simple carbs, fibrous carbs do not raise your blood sugar and do not supply your body with energy like simple sugars do. A good balance of complex carbohydrates, fibrous carbohydrates, and simple carbohydrates are a very important part of a balanced diet. Here are more examples of fibrous foods, include these in your eating regimen Today!
